Jazz, amongst all genres of music has been around since the beginning of time. It is the heart and soul of almost all aspects of life.
Rituals, spiritual worship, relaxation and meditation to name a few.
Our hearts beat to a rhythm, so really it is no wonder humanity find joy in music. I am almost 100% sure there is no human on this planet that would say they do not like, nor listen to any form of music. If there is, point them out as I would love to interview them!
Rock, Soul, Indie, Folk, Pop, RnB, Metal, Trance, Dance, Traditional– the list really does go on-
House, and then even Underground House– what is that anyway!?
Mainstream and Underground is a real thing. It separates the ‘commercially tainted’ from the ‘genuine creative music genius’ with somewhat of a stamp of approval. However much this is and will continue to be debated, Underground music comes from a place of freedom and creative sounds that you just will not find from the commercially biased entertainers that pop up on our screens.
Music is the be all and end all. It is the fundamental beginning, middle and end of our lives, our existence and pleasure; whether we like it or not.
Week long camping in muddy fields, freezing weather and burgers so expensive they should be gold; festivals are one of the many celebrations people will go to dyer lengths for to celebrate the love we have for music.
Jazz being a very well known and long-adored genre of tapping toes and pumping beats, it is quite possibly and widely believed, one of the oldest forms of music we have in today’s day and age. Originating back in the African American cultures, as early as the 1800’s, Jazz really is the godfather of all music. See for yourself
Whether you understand it, can tap along to it, or simply just ‘don’t get it’- jazz is an acquired taste that stems so many outlets of musical style. The passion involved some have described as making love. The emotion, the memory, the history- Jazz is more than what a festival could make of it- What are your thoughts? Pop a comment below
Jazz is the undeniable Underground Truth of Musical History!
An up and coming group that brings Jazz to life as much as the big-timers do…
Gminor of Mossel Bay.
A local band with extraordinary talent starting from the bottom and working their way up, they are just incredible. I’m not just saying that- coming from the big and bad of London- UK, growing up with Jazz artists on every street corner, I learnt what ‘good’ and ‘bad’ Jazz sounded like- these guys give something else. Covers of popular songs and old school Jazz remixes their talent is incredible.
But don’t take my word for it- check out their reviews, their fans, their followers
Come along for a night and see for yourself. Powerful vocals with intense sax solos and insane drum talent
Show stopping to say the least!
Bye for now
